ControlByWeb® June 2024 Updates

Exciting things are happening here at ControlByWeb®! From new cellular-enabled devices to a major Cloud release, there’s a lot to cover. Read on for highlights of what we’ve been up to lately.

A cellular version of our popular X-410™ edge-programmable controller is now available. The additional hardware includes dual-SIM technology, allowing the device to automatically switch between networks as needed to maintain a strong connection. Visit our cellular products page for a list of currently supported cellular devices and to learn more about our annual data plans.

Cell connectivity is a great alternative in applications where it would be difficult or downright impossible to hardwire an ethernet connection. And even in areas where Ethernet is available, ControlByWeb cellular devices can use cell as a failover if the primary connection goes down.

The WebRelay™ is now available with the 400 Series platform. It’s the same reliable hardware with an improved user interface, no-code logic builder, security enhancements, scheduled and conditional logging, and more features. The older model will continue to be available; it’s ideal for applications where you don’t need cloud access or custom control logic. There’s a reason that the WebRelay has been one of our most popular devices for decades!

The WebRelay X-WR-441 is available now, and the WebRelay-Quad will be released soon. Sign up for our newsletter to learn when the Quad will be available.

The latest firmware, v3.12, is now available for compatible 400 Series IoT controllers. One of the major developments in this release is the ability to upload new firmware through remote field updates. This feature has been highly requested by and we’ve introduced it in a way that meets the security requirements of our customers.

Additionally, the firmware allows users to create publish/subscribe logic using the MQTT protocol (version 3.1.1). If you place an order for an MQTT-compatible device, leave a note or contact us and we can ensure firmware v3.12 is installed before your order ships.

The latest firmware also brings P2P networking through the Cloud, a new User/Guest feature for read-only access, and security updates. Review the release notes for the details.
