The X-422 Davis Weather Suite Controller, installed into the Davis Integrated Suite (DAVIS-6322C), provides a simple solution for remote weather monitoring.
Overview
The X-422™ is an advanced meteorological monitoring system designed specifically to be used with a Davis Instruments Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS). The X-422™ mounts directly inside the sensor suite housing and connects to all of the sensors in the sensor suite.
Weather Sensors
The X-422 reads all included sensors in the sensor suite (wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, rain, etc) as well as other optional Davis Weather Sensors. The X-422 provides real-time weather data as well as historical measurements through an intuitive web page.
Built-In Web Server
The web server is built into the X-422 which makes this a reliable, stand-alone solution with no cloud services required.
In addition to standard weather information, users can leverage the sophistication of the X-422 for:
- Data logging
- Password-protected interface
- Automatic time synchronization through NTP service
Publish Weather Data
Uploads weather data to weather sites without a PC or external software. You can easily publish weather information directly to weather sites such as CWOP, Weather Underground and (Internet connection required for this feature).

Applications
The following are examples of instruments and sensors that can be connected to the X-422, as well as an example view of how the information is displayed.
- Wind Speed and Direction
- See real-time wind information such as wind speed, direction, wind gusts, and wind history.
- Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge
- Monitor rain accumulation during the past hour, day, and week. Keep a running monthly total to know exactly how much precipitation you receive each month.
- Temperature and Humidity
- Quick view of today’s Highs and Lows, as well as the current temperature and humidity.
- Solar Radiation
- Use this measurement to see how much, or little sunlight an area receives throughout the year.
- Barometric Pressure
- Visually see the barometric pressure trends during the past 24-hour period. (Barometric sensor not included in Davis Sensor Suite)
Installations
The X-422 mounts directly inside the sensor suite housing and seamlessly connects directly to all of the meteorological sensors that are provided in the sensor suite. It’s connected to a local area network (LAN) using a wired Ethernet connection.
The wired Ethernet connection also provides power to the X-422 and all of the sensors in the sensor suite using Power Over Ethernet (POE).
Once the X-422 is connected to the sensors and powered, the Weather Monitor interface can be accessed via the local network or remotely through port forwarding on your router.
